November Is Here To Help Remind You To Be Grateful

In this month of November, there are signs everywhere “To Be Thankful.” To Be Grateful.”

Is it catching your attention? Is it reminding you of all you have to grateful for?

It does make me stop for a moment. And think about whatever I’m doing to reframe the situation to give thanks. Just like last night, the sirens were blaring over and over. I was thankful we were safe and knew in the morning, I could see if any damage was done. Thankfully, nothing here. One of our sons had huge trees down, that fell on his batting cage and they have no electricity. But he was grateful he and his family were safe. The trees didn’t fall on the house. Their yard is a mess and he has to deal with all that. But so much to be grateful for if we look from that perspective. Yes, you have to deal with everything that is before you. He has a number of people stepping up to help.

An opportunity to see all the goodness there is around you. Are you looking for that goodness?

Remember you get what you focus on.

I know I have made huge leaps forward on this thankful path.

There were times I let expectations that things happen, get in my way of seeing how lucky I was or how blessed I was.

I had righteous feelings that I deserved certain things because I worked hard rather than seeing how lucky I was and the opportunities that came my way.

I see how much more peaceful and loving life is when I’m in the space of giving thanks and gratitude.

Where can November help you become more grateful?

Think about becoming the person you want to be in this phase of your life.

Think about how you can appreciate all you’ve learned, and done to become who you are today. Do not beat yourself up for the failures, lessons or challenges.

Applaud yourself for:

having the courage being willing to grow honoring yourself through all the challenges believing in yourself that you deserve to have what you desire

How can you make a shift to 2% more gratitude?

Where could you begin?

If you are in or near my age category, a good place to check out your attitude is to be thankful that you have some pain-free moments.

Where are you on the scale of complaining or being grateful? Even for any moments of your body feeling at ease and in the flow?

Think about a challenging adventure you are in the midst of to shape your gratitude. As Arthur Brooks says, “How can you reframe your difficulties?”

What if you looked at these challenges as opportunities? To expand your knowledge or your ability to fix something? Think of how good you’d feel to have pushed yourself and maybe even achieved something greater than you thought possible.

It is said that the greatest prayer ever said is “Thank You.”

Catch yourself throughout the day giving thanks.

What part of your life could benefit the most from you being thankful? Is it your spiritual life, your physical life, your financial life, your mental life, or your emotional life?

Set reminders on your phone.

Use gratitude for blessings and all the abundance you have.

I know when I get up in the morning, I say thanks for at least 10 things, and again when I go to bed. I try to remember to give thanks wherever I am and as things happen for me.

Use November to help give thanks throughout this month, and not just on Thanksgiving.

Watch your life come alive with so many blessings.
