Where are you giving your power away?
Who has control over you?
What outside forces are you letting rule your life? I know for so long, I let trying to follow the rules be my guide. I never thought I could let rules help me decipher what might be best based on the circumstances. No, they were the “word.” I was powerless.
Notice any darkness or angst in your life. Those are areas asking you to awaken more. Notice where you have made something in these situations wrong or bad. For instance, if you have made the government wrong or bad. Dig into that. Why is that? Are you following others’ thoughts or opinions? Did the government do something that made you angry or upset? Did they overspend? Then take time to look in your life where that might be happening. Where are you overspending, or whatever reason you gave for disliking the government? Possibly, You are projecting that the government is bad rather than that you might need more discipline to stop overspending.
Be the change you wish to see. Don’t lose your power.
Everything outside of yourself that triggers you mirrors something within you that needs your attention. It’s ready to be transformed, changed, or deleted. Do not feel powerless.
It is time for you to take back your power and be in charge instead of letting that part or situation run your life.
Recently at dinner, we discussed how differing concepts led different generations, like the most significant generation leading by honor. For example, our baby boomer generation has been led by who was successful.
Once you become aware of what is running you, you can diffuse it by taking back your power.
Yes, nothing is wrong with success, but it’s problematic when you see how it has controlled many people’s lives and health. For those lucky enough to love what they did without stressing you out, without you making in words only that family was most important, being successful was a gift. It allowed you many opportunities.
But for far too many people, success controlled them. We are the most stressed-out generation. We are the sickest. Lives were out of balance, and success defined who they were. They were powerless. Being successful ran the show.
As David Whyte says, “Honesty is grounded in humility and indeed in humiliation, and in admitting exactly where we are powerless.”
Are you letting success define you?
Look at the next generation and notice how they have adjusted away from the “success” idea. Look at how many of these men are more involved in their family responsibilities. They are taking back their power.
Out of excess, out of extremes, life has a way of coming back to balance and bringing more light.
Right now, in our evolution, darkness is reigning big. Life is asking you to question what you believe is not working. Then be willing to do the work to shift it. Be willing to bring more light, a new way, a new possibility. Be willing to claim your power.
Find where you feel powerless, and know that you CAN shift that. Be honest.
It’s time to remove limitations and not let the past keep you powerless. Patch Adams says it best, “Unlike a lot of people, I don’t feel powerless. I know I can do something. But anyone can do something; it’s not about being special. It’s about deciding to do it – to dive into work for peace and justice and care for everybody on the planet.” Or whatever it is you desire to change.
Become more aware and more conscious of why or where you are feeling powerless. Life doesn’t have to be that way.
Yes, it can be, but decide if you want more for yourself.
Awareness is the first step to changing the situation you find yourself in.
Decide you are no longer going to be powerless. Decide you are going to take back your power. Vernon Howard says, “End the jungle within oneself, and the exterior jungle has no more terrors.”
Quit letting outside forces define you.
What is calling you to be more powerful to reclaim your sovereignty? To stand more in all you are created to be?
Let your light shine.
You were made in the image and likeness of God.
You are powerful. Be it.
