Day 2: Lesson
“Don’t look for your dreams to come true; look to become true to your dreams.” Michael Beckwith
Day Two has you thinking about what it is you truly desire in life. Where is your passion? What is the vision for your life?
As we go through this journey, some of the key ideas we will be discussing will be to become aware or conscious of how you are doing life – from your breathing to your thoughts and reactions or responses in a day to being able to control the chatter of your mind and thoughts. Awareness is the first step in creating any change.
Dreams are inside of you dying to be shared and played out in the world. Yet few step up and live the life. Why is that? Wayne Dyer tells us, “Doing what you love is the cornerstone of having abundance.” You came here to explore and express your unique self. Something in you will keep calling you to your greatness. Have you noticed that something? What is it for you?
How do you want to live your life? Have you ever taken the time to think about it? What’s a dream you have had since childhood? “We cannot achieve more in life than we believe in our heart of hearts we deserve to have. “ James R Ball
What have you longed for? What do you really, really, really desire? Is it a joyful life? A peaceful life? Is it about money and material things? Or does it ask you to go deeper to ask the questions of Who Am I? Why Am I Here? In order to discover your best life, it takes deliberate focusing on your burning desires.
Life provides you endless possibilities to discover what you like and want.
When you align with what you love, and long to be and do in this world, the Universe aligns and opens doors for you. When you have a dream from God in your heart, you don’t have to struggle and try to force things to happen. The universe will provide the next step and next, and next until you see your dream manifested. It’s your job to follow those steps. This is the shift to living on purpose. As Ernest Holmes states, “There is a power greater than you in the universe, and you can use it.”
Actions Steps:
- What would living your best life look like in the area you have chosen? Write out qualities that you desire for the area of your life you chose to work on for this course. Make a vision board. Use pinterest.com. Give as much description as you can. You can think about what you like about your life now and what you wish was different. What’s a dream you have had since childhood around this? What lights you up? What are you passionate about?
- Think about your 85th birthday. What would you want people to say about you? Think about this from all the different roles you play – as a partner, sister/brother, parent, CEO, employer, employee, colleague, teacher and friends. What would you want each of them saying about you? Write it down. Then ask yourself how that is matching the life you are living today. Are there things that you need to do to shift and align with these comments? Write down at least two ways you can begin making that shift today.
